All Set for Hannover: BAIC Foton Brings Its Full Product Spectrum to IAA Transportation 2026

Original Chinese source: BAIC Foton News Center, published 7 September 2026 — "All Set for Action! BAIC Foton Lands at IAA Hannover with Its Full Product Spectrum." Translated into English for international readers.
The low-carbon wave is sweeping the global commercial vehicle sector. With its stringent market access regulations and mature logistics business environment, Europe has become the ultimate arena for testing the comprehensive strength of new-energy commercial vehicles worldwide. Facing both the opportunities and the challenges of the global market, BAIC Foton is anchored by its comprehensive internationalisation strategy — and it is no longer limited to exporting single products. Instead, it delivers a complete localised business solution spanning products, technology, supply chain and service.

A 1,000-square-metre stand built around "EASY MOVE"
At this year's IAA Transportation show in Hannover, BAIC Foton has taken a stand of more than 1,000 square metres in Hall 21 under the exhibition theme EASY MOVE. Seven complete vehicles and six self-developed core components will be displayed together, providing full coverage of Europe's mainstream transport scenarios: line-haul logistics, urban sanitation, city distribution and public transit.
The vehicle line-up comprises:
- Auman Galaxy 9 PHEV heavy truck
- Cavana BEACON battery-electric heavy truck
- Auhang EHL battery-electric street sweeper
- Qimingxing battery-electric light truck
- Cavana Lefu battery-electric mid-size van
- Mars (Huoxing) pickup PHEV
- Foton Auv 12-metre battery-electric city bus
The component exhibits cover heavy-duty traction batteries, electric drive axles, electronic control systems and megawatt-class charging equipment — self-developed hardware that demonstrates Foton's full-chain in-house capability from complete vehicles down to underlying components.
European certifications and a local parts hub are already in place
Armed with market "entry tickets" such as the WVTA European Whole Vehicle Type Approval and the VECTO heavy-duty vehicle CO₂ certification, Foton's new-energy products are accelerating their rollout across multiple European countries.
The company's European regional parts distribution centre (RDC), located in Unna, Germany, has officially begun operations, enabling forward-warehoused local parts supply and direct dispatch — a move that substantially improves after-sales response efficiency across Europe.
Globally, 32 overseas localised production plants, joint-venture shipping capacity, more than 1,200 overseas sales outlets and over 1,500 service outlets now operate in coordination, closing the loop across delivery, parts and maintenance services. In January–August 2026, BAIC Foton's export sales reached 149,000 units, up 44.3% year on year — validating the commercial value of this localised operating model.
Three major announcements on Media Day, 14 September
On Media Day (08:40–09:10 local German time, 14:40–15:10 Beijing time with a simultaneous livestream), BAIC Foton will release three core announcements:
First — a brand-new strategy for the European market. Built around multi-dimensional planning for new-energy product iteration, localised business operations and service ecosystem development, the strategy commits Foton to deep participation in Europe's low-carbon commercial vehicle transition, delivering full-lifecycle transport solutions.
Second — the milestone delivery of its 13-millionth vehicle worldwide. This vehicle will enter the Spanish market first, marking a key node in Foton's global development.
Third — the overseas debut of the Cavana BEACON. This ground-up, forward-developed, "electric-or-hydrogen" battery-electric flagship heavy truck targets medium- and long-haul line-haul freight operations of more than 300 kilometres, offering a deployable Chinese solution for global zero-carbon line-haul logistics. On the show floor, the seven-vehicle new-energy matrix and six self-developed core components will be displayed alongside the three-electric system and megawatt-class replenishment equipment, underscoring independently controllable core technology.
Public days and ecosystem partners
Beyond the Media Day launch event, during the public days from 15 to 20 September the stand will remain open to global dealers, key accounts and industry media for hands-on experience of the full range of exhibits and technical displays. Ecosystem partners including ZF, CATL and EVE Energy will also be present, jointly demonstrating the strength of China's commercial vehicle supply chain going global together.
This is both a fresh starting point for BAIC Foton's roots in the European market and an important statement of Chinese intelligent manufacturing on the world's top commercial vehicle stage. On 14 September, join us in Hannover to unlock Foton's answer to systematic global expansion.
